Post A Level Options

First of all, we from Career and Further Education Section would like to say big Congratulations to those who have passed their A levels. We hope you managed to get the grades that you have been aiming for. For those who did not quite make it, do not give up- analyse your mistakes, try again, work harder to achieve higher grades. For your convenience, we have outlined checklists and some of the possible routes that you could take, now that your results are out. So start working now
- if you got the grades to study overseas (UK), but yet to apply to UCAS, now is the time for you to do so. Make sure the requirements of the Universities that you apply to, match your grades. You may still link your application to PTEK (use the buzzword), and we will write references for you and send your application online to UCAS (this could only be done once you have paid for the registration)

- if you want to go to local universities, start applying through HECAS now (you should get a copy of how to fill in HECAS when you collect your statement of results)

- if you wish to apply for the scholarships, apply through HECAS too

- similarly you could check out the different local and overseas institutions/ bodies that offer scholarships (especially if you are not Yellow I/c holder). Apply directly to them. Scroll down for previous blogs where we have uploaded the informations regarding the various scholarships offered

- if you did not get the grades, do not feel demotivated, there are still options for you. You could retake your exams in June (so go register for the exams now!), or you could do HND (overseas or locally) and you may also get scholarships to do that. There are aslo various local private colleges that offer different ND and HND courses.

Bottom line is, there are always options for everyone. You just have to keep looking and we are always here to help you out.
However please note that it might not be easy for you to look for us this coming week, as we will be busy with the Lower 6 admission in multi-purpose hall. The best time for you to catch us would probably be during lunch time or the next week. In the mean time, start working on your personal statement. You could leave it in the box outside Head of Career's office (Admin Block). Please leave your email, AE and phone number so that we can contact you when we are done checking them
We'll see you soon...Congrats again
